I've gone through some of the stages, anyway- first anger, then sadness, then just despair for our country. However, through it all, I know in my heart that God ordained this from the beginning of time, and this was no surprise to Him. I guess I have to say it didn't shock me, either, although I was hoping and praying for a different outcome. Regardless of the political scene that is going to "change," our God is constant, never-changing, all-knowing, and all-powerful. He is much bigger than the political agendas of those who will be in power in our country in a few short months. I don't think I can put into words what our attitude should be any better than a man I've quoted before....Jamie Work. Here was his devotional for the day, and I thought it was worth putting on this post....

November 5, 2008
"The king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the LORD; He turns it wherever He wishes." (Proverbs 21:1)

The longest and most expensive presidential election has come and gone. Barack Obama has been elected the 44th President of the United States of America. With a clear mandate from both the electoral college (349 to 162) and the popular vote (63.4 million to 56.1 million), Mr. Obama was established early in the election evening as our president-elect. What does his election mean for America?

For one, all of us can celebrate with African-Americans that another racial barrier in America has been broken. Just like Jackie Robinson breaking the racial barrier in baseball and Thurgood Marshall being appointed as the first African-American to the U.S. Supreme Court, when racial barriers are destroyed there is reason for all of us to celebrate.
More importantly, however, Mr. Obama's election means what every other presidential election has meant to followers of Christ. The President is one for whom we are obligated to pray (I Timothy 2:1-2); he is one whose heart is "like channels of water in the hands of the Lord" (Proverbs 21:1) and therefore he is a servant to God's will and purposes; and the President is one who we recognize as NOT having the answers we need for life - he is not our hope (Lamentations 3:24), the Lord Jesus Christ is our hope!!

While the world applauds Mr. Obama's election, and European leaders are quoted as saying his election is a "new deal for a new world," and Mr. Obama himself said in his victory speech last night "a new dawn of American leadership is at hand," neither his presidency nor Mr. McCain's presidency, had he been elected, will be our hope for a brighter tomorrow.
God is bigger than our presidential election; bigger than politics; bigger than America. God is our Rock. He is our refuge and strength. He is our shelter and a very present help in time of trouble. God is our Shepherd, our Sovereign, and our Savior. It is in HIM ALONE that we find comfort for the trouble of today and hope for the challenges of tomorrow.

You and I will pray for president-elect Obama. We will obey the governing authorities God has placed over us. We will demonstrate Christ to our lost and dying world in the way we carry out our citizenship. But we will not find our hope in any person, government, or organization except the Lord Jesus Christ! He is supreme! He is our everything! Rejoice in this and I will see you Sunday. I feel so blessed to have such an incredibly wonderful husband. We have dated since I was 14 (well, I couldn't actually "date" until I was 16, but we were "going together"....do they even still use that term these days?). Although we've only been married almost 11 years, it feels like we should almost be at our Silver Wedding Anniversiary! In a good way, of course! We had our few break-ups and dated a few other people, but we were always drawn back to one another, and I know the Lord had it planned for us from the beginning. I posted a few months ago on why I love my husband so much....it was one of my first posts....so I won't go into all of that again here, but I do so love my husband, my first love, my first boyfriend, the daddy to my babies! He is so precious to our family, and I appreciate all that he does to take care of us, love us, and always keep us laughing.

Richard has been somewhat incapacitated the past 6 1/2 weeks due to a muscle injury (we finally have a diagnosis, thank goodness...piriformis syndrome), and he has had to lay on the floor with ice most of the time he is at home. I have never seen him in such pain as he has gone through these past several weeks, and it was so difficult to watch him hurting, and feel so helpless to do anything to ease the pain. Even more difficult for him has been his inability to "participate" in our family functions....taking care of the kids, going to ballgames, going to church, playing out in the yard, horseplaying with the kids, working in the house and yard, etc. I realize just how much he does on a daily basis when I've had to do it all myself (except for the yard of course...that will always be his job according to him!). Anyway- we've both learned how much more we need to appreciate our health and just the ability to do the everyday things we are able to do. He is slowly getting better, and I see so much how his presence in just the little things makes such a difference for me, and especially for Matthew and Sarah Beth. We are so thankful for him to be feeling better.

So....that's what happens when you get OLD, I guess.....things start breaking down! No, really, although he thinks he's old at 37, I still see that sparkle of youth in his eyes and his personality, and he'll be back to working out and jogging soon, he hopes, anyway. I do believe he is wise beyond his years, but that's about the only thing that's "old" about him! I love you, my precious husband! Happy Birthday!

Friends

I just want to take a moment to give the Lord praise for answered prayers. Last spring, as Richard and I were deciding whether or not to homeschool Matthew for Kindergarten, although I really felt it was the right decision for our family, I was concerned that he wouldn't have regular play times with friends since most of his friends would now be in preschool or Kindergarten. I began really praying for the Lord to open up doors for us in this area, and as I was praying for him, I also began praying for myself, that I would meet other moms and develop meaningful, fun relationships with other women. It seems that the older you get, you have those long-term lasting friendships with college roomates or high school friends, but you don't get to see them often, and as our lives become busier with children, it's difficult to find time to develop new friendships and even to find time to maintain the old ones!

So.....fast forward to July....Matthew was in Kindermusik camp, and as usual, the mothers do the typical small talk for those few days during the week while the kids are in class. The last day, one of the mothers, Susan, who I had seen at church, but didn't know, asked if we wanted to come swimming at her neighborhood pool after class. The kids of course were thrilled, so we decided to go, and it was a really fun time for all of us. There are just some people who you immediately "click" with, and Susan is just one of those people. It's so nice to have friendships that are so easy, and where you feel so comfortable with the other person. We have had several other play dates since that time, and we were so excited to go to the Fireproof Premier with Susan and Tony a few weeks ago. We so enjoy spending time with them, and I am just so thankful the Lord brought Susan into my life for a new friendship to develop. It has been great getting to know her family, and I look forward to many more fun times with them.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SNWz7-sie1I/AAAAAAAAAL4/jcYM4DjDu4g/s320/August+2008+864.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248298783793642322" />

A few weeks after meeting Susan, I was talking to our former neighbor who had moved out of her house last summer after she got married. She told me a family would be moving in next door....with 4 kids! Goodness! I wasn't quite sure what to think. However, from the first day we met Kathy, Aaron, and their four girls, we knew the Lord was continuing to answer our prayer for Matthew to have lots of playmates. They have 4 children...ages 4 (soon to be 5- Matthew's age), 3 (SB's age), 2 and 5 months. Aaron is the new chaplain at Shorter College, and they have served at various churches around the country before coming to Rome. I would describe Aaron as a "free spirit"- ALWAYS making the children laugh and have such a good time (recently he rigged a zipline in his backyard for the kids to play on, and even today, he brought out a bunch of pillows for the kids to have a pillowfight- they loved it!). Kathy is such a wonderful, nurturing Christian mother and wife, and has also become a good friend in the past month. We feel so blessed to have such great neighbors....and permanent playmates for our kids! Wow- the Lord certainly answered our prayers! Pictured below are the kids playing, and the bottom picture is the first day they moved in....we shared some popsicles with them as Mom and Dad were getting moved in!
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SNW4GJP47NI/AAAAAAAAANA/QysLKDUmDWA/s320/September+2008+031.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248303356471471314" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SNW0smTJceI/AAAAAAAAAMA/z4GW5w9i4dU/s320/September+2008+029.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248299619058282978" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SNW0tKjmsZI/AAAAAAAAAMI/rw-Xhvb0RRk/s320/August+2008+152.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248299628790985106" />

Then, there are the friends who are just always there when you need them, and even at times when you don't know you need them.....Naomi, for example. What a godly example of a mother and wife she has been for me! She is my inspiration for homeschooling when I see what all she has accomplished with her daughter who is older than Matthew. My children love her daughter, Abbey- we have had TONS of playdates and fun times together. Naomi is about the most thoughtful, generous, kind and considerate person I have ever known (actually, there are two of those in my life...the other being my mother!). I have learned so much from Naomi, and I can always count on her for encouragement, advice, and prayer on the other end of the phone line when I am in the midst of a difficult time, or anything else (i.e....spending hours helping me decorate for a bday party or dressing up as a clown in 100 degree weather for a bday party!). I thank the Lord so much for Naomi's presence in my life.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SNW19XBIRrI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/tFdsAxXY4QE/s320/August+2008+428.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248301006525580978" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SNW19mbglGI/AAAAAAAAAMY/4lDLGr2Njfs/s320/August+2008+677.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248301010662757474" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SNW1-JA5csI/AAAAAAAAAMg/Un75KJkuwYQ/s320/August+2008+681.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248301019946382018" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SNW1-tUFzqI/AAAAAAAAAMo/QAfiyXycA28/s320/Copy+(2)+of+Circus+Party+2007+192.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248301029690560162" />

Then there are those friends who have been with you through times of growing....such as the college years. I was able to visit with my college roommates a few weeks ago, and it was really nice (although not nearly enought time) to catch up on one another's lives. God has really blessed all of us- all together we have 9 children! I don't think any of us could have imagined how blessed we'd be 13 years after we graduated from Samford University. Kathryn, Leigh Ann, and Susie are precious women who love the Lord, and I was so fortunate to spend 4 years of my life with them.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SNW2gHm4T8I/AAAAAAAAAMw/ERy6zFhWi0Q/s320/September+2008+057.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248301603684372418" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SNW2gmt_N0I/AAAAAAAAAM4/tKecLwIxuZ8/s320/September+2008+060.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248301612035684162" />

I just wanted to share this answered prayer...the Lord really does know what we need when we need it. His timing is perfect and always right. He knows the people we need to have around us for our own growth, for friendship, even just for fun! I am honored and grateful to have these friends, as well as many others, in my life. Make sure to tell your friends how special they are to you! They need you as much as you need them!

Willy Wonka Party

Oh, what fun we had at our Willy Wonka party for Matthew and Sarah Beth. It was LOTS of work, but LOTS of fun for the kids. That's the point, right? Birthday parties are always a big deal in our family because we want our children to feel special and have great memories of their parties. This year was no exception.

Matthew and Sarah Beth have been watching the Chocolate Factory movie since we gave it to them for Valentine's Day this past year. They also love the new version, and often quote from the movie or sing the oompa loompa songs. They have enjoyed it so much, that Richard suggested that be the theme of their party this year- of course they loved that idea. So, creating that "paradise" in the movie where everything is edible was our goal. Of course, there's only so much you can do to a room to try to make it look like that. We did our best to create a chocolate waterfall/river, and had the chocolate fountain with lots of good things to dip in it. I think that was the favorite of the kids. Although, the cupcake decorating with all the different candies might have been a favorite, too. As the children came in, they were required to sign a "birthday fun" contract (like in the movie where they sign the contract before entering the factory). We had a huge screen with the movie playing during the entire party. After eating pizza, they settled down for a fun magic show, and the magician did balloon twisting for the kids throughout the party. Our games were rolling the blueberry to the juicing room and passing the golden egg. We had a fabulous turnout with about 25 kids, and I'm sure my little ones will never forget it!

A special thank you to Naomi and Abbey, who were truly our lifesavers in getting all the decorations up the day before, making us banana bread for our breakfast the day of the party, entertaining my kiddos, taking all the pictures, helping with clean up, and just about everything else that left my brain that day! I couldn't have done it all without them! Also, thank you to my mother who made all the cupcakes for us- that was a HUGE help!

As I said in the beginning....it was a LOT of work, but a LOT of fun! Until next year.....

FIREPROOF Movie Premier at the Fox Theater

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SL32bCjCMrI/AAAAAAAAALQ/zg9T-ijiqTk/s320/August+2008+860.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5241616485729841842" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SL32bcMiBfI/AAAAAAAAALY/TD4frETf2iU/s320/August+2008+861.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5241616492614780402" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SL32b135XWI/AAAAAAAAALg/87ZyQl27XGI/s320/August+2008+862.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5241616499507551586" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SL32cEAS77I/AAAAAAAAALo/dZGiMembo0Y/s320/August+2008+864.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5241616503300878258" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SL32cV0g3GI/AAAAAAAAALw/pp74BnW6kp0/s320/August+2008+863.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5241616508083297378" />

Wow! What an event! We went to the Fireproof movie premier at the Fox Theater last Friday night with Tony and Susan, and we had such a good time. Tony works for Chick-fil-A, so we were honored to be their guests at the VIP reception before the movie. The picture of the ice sculpture doesn't do it justice- it was beautiful. Of course, the best part of the evening for me (other than spending a night out with my husband and great friends, of course!) was meeting Kirk Cameron- actually getting our picture made with him. He was much skinnier than I imagined, but still quite cute- he obviously looks a little older, but not a whole lot of change since the days of Growing Pains- my favorite show when I was a pre-teen. His testimony is just awesome, though. He wouldn't pose for a picture with a single female- it had to be with another person or a group- he has that much integrity! I, actually, would not have thought about it, but to hear him speak, you can just tell that he wants all of his words and actions to honor his Savior, Jesus Christ.

As for the movie- it exceeded my expectations. It is from the creators of "Facing the Giants," a movie created by a church in Albany, GA. However, Sony pictures and others got behind this, contributing the much needed funds to make it quite the production. It is such a relevant movie for the state of marriages these days. Anyone who is married MUST go see this movie. I was either crying or laughing the entire time. It was just very well done, and I know the Lord will bless it in our country, especially if we, as Christians, support it by going to see it opening weekend, Sept. 26. They say the movie is only as good as it's opening weekend, so make plans to go!!!

Happy 5th Birthday, our precious Mattthew!

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SLVEyRUEmTI/AAAAAAAAALI/1RpcWRamjHE/s320/June+2008+359.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5239169371947178290" />

I know, I know.....this slide show is just TONS of pictures, but I wanted to capture much of Matthew's little life. Unfortunately, I didn't have a digital camera for his first two years, so I had to take pictures of my scrapbook. I enjoyed going "back in time" and see how he has grown.

My precious little Matthew is 5 years old today. I am amazed at the little boy he has become. He is so full of life, loves to laugh, and is so very kind to others. Matthew is just the sweetest little child I have ever known, and that’s been echoed by other family members and friends, so I’m not that biased! He readily gives hugs, kisses, or a helping hand if needed. He is obedient (most of the time!), compliant, and has such a sweet disposition about him.

Matthew’s interests include building, building, and more building! Other than that, he loves Curious George, trains, digging in the dirt, playing baseball, watching movies, riding his bike, scooter, and jeep, and playing with his little sister (again…most of the time!). Matthew loves his family, loves snuggling with Mommy and Daddy, and especially enjoys spending time with Daddy in the yard or horseplaying/wrestling. Matthew is a very smart little boy, too- he has been reading for several months, now, and caught on to reading very quickly. He is enjoying Kindergarten, and loves to ask questions and learn more about things by asking LOTS of questions. He especially enjoys trying to understand how things work, and “why” things are as they are (for which there are often no answers!). Like his Daddy, he has an EXCELLENT memory, and seems to remember things back to when he was even 2 years old. I have to be careful with that…..he’s not going to forget my parenting mistakes!

I am so proud of the way he readily connects with other children, and how he has socially matured just in the past few months. I have seen a new confidence in him with regard to meeting people, speaking up while in a group setting, and just engaging with other children in social settings. It is so good to see his confidence and enjoyment in being with other children.

Lately he has also been asking many spiritual questions, as well. I can see the Lord pricking his heart, and Matthew’s desire to know more about Jesus every day. He has begun memorizing Bible verses, and often asks questions about heaven. I’ve also seen him having a desire to pray for certain situations, and when the Lord answers those prayers tangibly where he can see the answer…..he gets the biggest grin on his face! What a joy for a parent!

My prayer for you, my little Matthew, is that the Lord will grow you in so many ways, physically, spiritually, emotionally, socially, and that you will bring glory to His name as you turn into a fine young man one day. For now, though, no matter what, you will always be Mommy’s little baby boy. Thank you for letting me love you, teach you, and watch you discover the world around you. You are such a joy to your Daddy and me, and we will forever be thankful for our little Matthew- “gift from God.” I love you, baby boy. Happy 5th Birthday!!!

First Day of Kindergarten!

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SKH3Bi7ONLI/AAAAAAAAAKo/2PFiMcqTNcE/s320/August+2008+168.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5233735847908357298" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SKH3B6a3BeI/AAAAAAAAAKw/XzTQfP5E3Q8/s320/August+2008+228.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5233735854215071202" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SKH3CJxKvcI/AAAAAAAAAK4/etIO4q_Bbt8/s320/August+2008+225.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5233735858335169986" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_mCCNkQ1RX7A/SKH3CjUjWpI/AAAAAAAAALA/qQ0ajqbHshM/s320/August+2008+224.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5233735865194470034" />

My baby boy has officially started Kindergarten! His first day was Monday, Aug. 11, and although he is being homeschooled, he was still very excited! He drew a picture and wrote in his journal, learned about the water cycle which creates rain, learned all about rainbows, and we even made one ourselves (forgot to take a picture of that) with a glass of water, some paper and sunlight. We began reading several different books- some dealing with history/geography, and then one of my all-time favorites...The Boxcar Children. Sarah Beth is enjoying listening to the read-aloud books, as well. Matthew did a little reading of his own- 1st grade readers, at that! He is doing very well, even if he does have a biased teacher! I hope it continues to go as well as it's gotten started! I love teaching him and seeing him "get it," and then being able to do other things with him throughout the day to reinforce what we learned or talked about. I feel very blessed and humbled to be homeschooling my children. It's such a wonderful opportunity! To Matthew- Congratulations on your first day of Kindergarten! I know you'll learn many things and do well this year- can't wait to be there with you every step of the way, my baby boy!

Good times in TN

<img style="cursor:pointer; The weather was fabulous- very strange for August in the South! We sure enjoyed it, though! We did a little shopping, then just played in the pool, had a great birthday dinner (celebrating my kids' bdays as well as my own), and a yummy bday cake! Thank you David and Janeeen for our bday dinner! On Sunday, we went to their church- FBC Smyrna...but it's no traditional Baptist church- it's extremely contemporary complete with stadium-type seating, it's own Christian gift shop and coffee shop, and very relevant topics. It's also very obvious that they make GREAT use of the many talented musicians in their church- there's a picture above of my brother playing keyboards. Their pastor is really a good speaker, and it's obvious they are meeting the needs of so many people in their area-I think they average over 2000 every Sunday- WOW! I was very proud of my talented brother up on stage. It was family picture time after church, and after a quick lunch, we headed back home. Sarah Beth cried for the first 20 min. after we left- so sad to leave her cousins. It seemed like such a short trip, but we enjoyed every minute of it! Thanks, David, Janeen, Landon, and Wil, for hosting us for the weekend!

Happy 3rd Birthday Baby Girl!

What a day we had! Sarah Beth woke up to lots of pink balloons in her room and pink streamers hanging down in her doorway. She was awake at 6:30! I guess she just couldn't stand the excitement! We went to church and her teacher/class sang to her, then we had a relaxing afternoon as we baked her birthday cake, she napped, and we got ready for her birthday dinner. We invited Mimi, Grandaddy, and Grammy over for our little family party, and she got a few gifts, too, of course! All day long she said "Sing Happy Birthday to me, Mommy!" I believe she truly felt like a princess, as she should on her birthday (although I'm not sure how this is different from any other day with regard to feeling like a princess :). Sarah Beth is still trying to get the hang of holding up three fingers to tell how old she is- she just can't seem to hold that pinky finger down with her thumb! But.....she knows she's 3, and she's very excited about that! She's really looking forward to her birthday party in a few weeks when we'll celebrate both her's and Matthew's birthday together- a Willy Wonka party!

Decorating her Strawberry Shortcake cake (it had LOTS of sprinkles on it!)

Blowing out her candles...

Some of her gifts (she'll get her "big" ones at her party in a few weeks). I was HUGE! That's easy enough to explain, though, with a 8 lb. 15 oz. baby! She was born at 11:51 pm on August 3, 2005. What a complete joy to have a newborn baby girl!!! She had dark curly hair, dark skin, and dark blue eyes. It was quite a frightening delivery, though, because she was so large that her shoulders were too wide, and she was stuck. Dr. Asa Peek (my hero!!!) had planned for this, and immediately did all the "emergency" things they do in this situation, including putting her arm up beside her head and pulling her out with one arm up, narrowing her shoulders. Praise the Lord that everything went well for us at that moment!!! After 16 hours in labor with no pain medication (my choice, I know- but I would still do it all over again!!!), she was a sight to behold!

Precious Baby Girl!

Matthew kissing Sarah Beth for the first time.

One of my favorite pictures when she was about 3 weeks old.

Sarah Beth is such a precious little person. She is completely different from her brother, in that she is extremely independent, and can be quite stubborn at times. She has a very strong will, which will be an asset to her later in life (although it is quite challenging these days!). Sarah Beth is very self-confident, she knows what she wants, and she goes after it- I like that about her. She can also be extremely loving and nurturing. I love watching her sing to her baby dolls or feed them. She talks in this high-pitched voice that is just precious. Sarah Beth is all "girl," completely! She loves pink painted fingernails and toenails, and she enjoys wearing dresses that can "twirl," as she says. She enjoys riding her bicycle, playing baseball with Daddy and Matthew, putting on make- up (every day!) with Mommy, and playing with her big brother. She has quite the personality, and I love seeing her grow and develop every day. I'm amazed at her communication, the way she picks up on others' emotions so quickly, and the way she learns so easily. She also already seems to have a spiritual sense about her. As she was going to bed on her birthday, she said, "Mommy, I want to give Jesus a piece of my birthday cake." Who would have ever thought of such a thing but a child? It was precious. She loves to pray every night before going to bed, and is very sincere with talking to Jesus. I'm very thankful for that. God truly blessed us when Sarah Beth came into our lives, and we are so proud to be the parents of Sarah Elizabeth, "Princess Consecrated to God." Happy Birthday my precious baby girl! I love you!!!!!

Running the Race

Running a race? No way, not me! In my wildest dreams, I never thought I would ever even consider running for exercise, a hobby, sport, or anything else, but especially not in a real race. Well, my dear hubby has done this in the past, and has a new found desire to get back into running....and take me along with him! I have been doing interval training for about 8 months, now, which includes a good bit of running and speed walking, but the thought of running in a 5K race is a bit intimidating to me. Not only that, but your name and time is recorded for all to see!

So, as he has begun training for a race coming up mid-September, I thought I would try it one time. I decided to run a 5K and time myself. If it took an hour, at least I'd know my limited ability, and he'd stop pestering me about running with him in this race. It was a night this week when there were thunderstorms all around our area, and although I could see the lightning far away lighting up the sky, there was no thunder or rain....only the pleasant winds to cool everything down (including me!). It really was a beautiful night to run, and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. As for my time, I beat Richard's by about 1 min. 20 sec., which isn't really fair b/c it was the first time he had run and timed himself, and he was just getting a baseline. He does strength training all the time, and usually runs once a week, so he is just now starting to add more jogging into his exercise routine. (I had to say all of that so he could "save face!") I still need to get my time down by about 4 minutes, but it was a good "beginning runner" time, I'm told!

So.....the real point of this is that as I was running, the Lord was bringing all sorts of biblical parallels to mind. The scripture often references those who are saved as being in a race:

"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize." I Cor. 9:24-27

"I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." Phil. 3: 12-14

"Therefore, since we are surrouned by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12: 1-2

We are to run the race with perseverance, endurance, with our eyes on the prize at all times....Jesus Christ! We so often get sidetracked, and Satan throws so many obstacles in our way. Sin easily creeps into our lives and we slow down our pace, look side to side at things that distract us, whether that be materialistic ideas, selfishness, greediness, frustrations, difficult relationships, problems with work, or whatever our "stumbling block" tends to be- Satan is well aware and ready to throw it in our path! As runners in this race toward heaven, we are to be disciplined, focused, and put our fleshly desires behind us, as well as our past sins, and strain toward God's calling for our lives. In doing so, others will see Jesus in us, and we may encourage them to join the race with us.

As for the Roman Rumble coming up in September......who knows? I haven't committed to it, but I'm sure I'll be persuaded to run with my husband. I wasn't quite sure what to expect at this age, but I was really surprised and pleased with what all she did her first time. She just looked so big to me out there walking on that balance beam. We're trying gymnastics for a few weeks before ballet begins- one thing at a time!!! We'll see what she enjoys the most! I so enjoy watching my children try new things. She was a bit hesitant to give the pacies over to the lady at the checkout, but she did it. We've had a few rough nights with her going to sleep (that's the only time she wanted one in her hand and one in her mouth, but she spit it out as soon as she fell asleep), but overall, we think she's done quite well. The checkout lady slipped them back into my bags for safe keeping! I'm just glad she went along with it all and didn't think I was too crazy!

They're just growing up WAY TOO FAST! Richard and I just keep thinking how it was truly just yesterday that they were those helpless little newborns keeping us awake all hours of the night. Now, they are so independent, have their own little personalities, and have learned so many things! We have made MANY milestones in the past several weeks. We had a sort of furniture swap....Matthew got a new twin size bed, Sarah Beth got his toddler bed, and the crib, yes my babies' crib that has been in the nursery for 5 years, now, has a resting place in the attic. I just can't give it up, although I know I will have no more babies to sleep in it. We're saving it for the grandchildren (boy, that's hard to type, much less imagine!). So, we officially have "real" beds for them, and they're quite happy with that.

Matthew's toddler bed.

Matthew's last night in his toddler bed.

Matthew's first night in his "big boy bed." What a week we've had! My twin nephews, Landon and Wil have been visiting with us and we've been busy to say the least. We went to a magic show at the library (and got to see tarantulas and snakes- ick!), we went to a movie, we went to Kangaroo Jakes (they LOVED this!), we went swimming (Landon went down the waterslide 30 times- really!), we went to the park, and we had numerous picnics outside including cookies and ice cream for dessert most nights (thanks to Mimi)! We enjoyed spending July 4th with them, as well. It was an incredibly busy but fun week!

We only get to see them a few times a year, and those visits are always around holidays, sometimes for 2-3 days at a time. So, it was a real treat for all of us to get to spend this much time with them. Matthew and Sarah Beth were truly in heaven! They love their older cousins so very much. I am so thankful to have precious nephews who enjoy playing with my children, even though they're much older. They were so responsible with them when we'd be walking in parking lots or in crowded areas- they immediately grabbed their hands to hold them while we walked. Landon and Wil are 9 years old, and certainly into video games (one of which they recently got and were very anxious to play), but instead of playing their games, they spent time horseplaying with my two munchkins! They are so very thoughtful, and my kiddos felt very special and loved by their cousins. It is so nice to see young boys be so caring and loving. I still see them as those little 2 year olds with chubby cheeks- it's gone by so very fast, but I can honestly say that they are so respectful, responsible and loving boys, and I am so proud to be their aunt! Thank you, Landon and Wil, for a wonderful week of fun! We'll miss you, but can't wait to visit you in a few weeks!

Beach Vacation

Well- we've been home now for a week, so I thought it was time to post some vacation pictures and memories. We all had a wonderful time- it's always much too short, though! I think I could spend an entire summer on the beach and not get homesick! I love the ocean, the sand, the sun, and just the break from the usual routine.

We usually go to North Myrtle Beach, but this year we decided to do something a little different (due to travel time as well as gas prices). We went to Panama City Beach- yes, Redneck Riviera, or whatever you wish to call it. I haven't been there in 15 years, and while much has changed, many more things are still the same. We enjoyed staying at the Calypso, which is right across the street from the new Pier Park, a new open shopping mall with lots of great restaurants and stores. Although it doesn't compare with Barefoot Landing in N. Myrtle Beach, it was nice for a change. The condo was quite nice, especially the two huge pools. We were a bit disappointed that the pier was under construction, but Matthew and my Dad enjoyed watching the men work on the barge out in the ocean- Matthew was actually fascinated and has built a pier out of his blocks every day since we've been home. The "crystal clear" water Richard has always raved about was only clear for about 2 days, after which time there was thick green algae and lots of seaweed every day (I included a picture of it in the slides). In the afternoon it was easier to find a clear spot, and we were able to get in, then, but I missed the giant waves of the Atlantic- the gulf was almost like a lake most of the time.

The kids' favorite thing to do was to swim in the pool. Both have taught themselves how to hold their breath underwater, and did it regularly (which made me quite nervous at times.) Matthew has been doing this for some time, now, in our small pool, but SB has never attempted it. She took a cue from him and started swimming underwater! They LOVED jumping off the side over, and over, and over...... Mommy's arms got a workout, for sure! SB also learned how to float on her back, and then started crossing her legs like a little lady while she floated- so funny! We enjoyed lots of eating out, and Richard and I even got to go on a date (something I don't think we've really done in a couple of years) The first night we all went out, on Father's Day, Matthew was so tired, that he literally fell asleep on the table while we were waiting on our food to arrive. Needless to say, they were both very ready for bed every night after long days of playing.

One great experience was with a photographer out of Atlanta. We had already taken some family pictures as usual, but the next day, I inquired as to what exactly he charged for a sitting fee. He had been sitting at the tiki bar every day with a poster of some beautiful beach pictures as he worked on his laptop, so I thought it was worth asking about. Surprisingly, he didn't charge a sitting fee at all- he was trying to build up his beach portfolio, and wanted to take some pics of my kiddos. Well- O.K.! He literally just took them from me, told me to sit down and relax, and he did his magic with them. SB is usually quite shy around strangers, especially photographers, but he got them to do everything he wanted for the camera- it was great! Mom and Dad took them back for an evening session while we were on our date, and the sunset pictures are incredible, as well. You can check them all out at www.KenRada.com, and the login code is diprima. He did a great job, so much that I might just drive to Flowery Branch for more pictures another time. I was quite impressed with his work!

Overall, it was a great trip with lots of good memories. We always enjoy my parents going with us, although this year my Dad's 3 herniated discs in his back limited him in several ways. The pain seemed to ease by the time we were leaving the beach, so hopefully he's on the road to recovery, again. We had a good time, but we're probably headed back to N. Myrtle next year (I've already started looking at condos!)

Happy Birthday, David!

Today, June 12, is my brother's 38th birthday! He is on a surprise vacation planned by my sister-in-law right now, and I'm so glad he's getting a break from work and all his responsibilities. I hope he and his family have a wonderful time relaxing together.

David is the kindest, most thoughtful brother. He truly cares about people and it is so evident in his gentle ways. David is a wonderful father to his twin boys, and I often see him encouraging them in different ways. He is a very devoted husband, as well.

I'd have to say David's passion is music. He definitely got all the talent in the family! He sings, plays the piano, trumpet, and guitar, but his biggest gift is writing music. It is unbelievable! He regularly writes "jingles" for advertisements for companies/ tv shows, etc., all over the country. I love it when he sends them to me so I can hear the demo- it's just amazing to me how he puts all of it together in his home studio! He also often writes music for Lifeway- children's music as well as youth music, and some choruses we'll probably sing in church one day. He is so very talented, and he is intentional on using his gifts to glorify the Lord. David is the leader of one of the 3 bands at his church, and those are all truly gifted musicians..... if you really want to hear some serious music, Nashville is definitely the place!!!!

One more thing that I love about my brother is that he has always chased his dreams of being a musician. In college, there were extended family members who commented that David would never succeed in majoring in music, and if he did, he'd never get a job, etc. Well...... he succeeded in his music business degree, moved to Nashville after getting married, and has always had a job in the music industry in one form or another! He's rubbed shoulders with the "great ones" of Christian music, and I'd say he's done quite well at making money doing what he loves! I'm so very proud of him, and today, I celebrate his life!

Happy Birthday, David!

Summertime Fun

I just had to post some of these pictures from our fun weekend. We didn't do anything major at all, and actually, that was what was nice about it. The kids played in the pool and on the waterslide much of the time, with the usual popsicles and icees to keep them cool. They both helped Daddy cut the grass (love that picture- if only they want to do it when they're teenagers!), and they enjoyed swinging and playing in their "clubhouse" together.

One incident that happened Fri. morning as I was cleaning the house was rather funny. I heard Matthew tell SB to bring him the toilet paper. He was in the living room, so I thought that was rather odd. I go to see what's happening, and SB had brought her pink potty (she has just become potty trained- learned in about 2 days! Woo-hoo! I digress...) into the middle of the living room, next to where Matthew was building. I asked what in the world they were doing, and Matthew states that he is at his worksite, and all builders have a potty at the worksite so they don't have to leave while they're working. He was about to actually use that potty in the middle of the living room! Good grief! He has a knack for completely and totally learning every detail of things he's interested in, and then recreating it to the best of his ability and with whatever resources he has available. So funny! I LOVE his imagination- it's incredible!

Anyway, after that episode, I created a treasure hunt for them so that they would be entertained while I finished cleaning the house. They loved that (Matthew walked around with a hanger b/c of the "hook" on it like Captain Hook- a pirate looking for treasure....). They got chocolate and money for their piggy banks at the end of the hunt. It was lots of fun.

I just love these lazy summer weekends! We're looking forward to our beach trip coming up soon!

Jesus will still be there....

I have been deeply saddened and grieved by one family's tragic loss this week. Many of you who read this probably received a series of e-mails from me for prayer regarding a little 2-year-old girl named Avery.

Earlier this week, when Avery was with a babysitter, she was standing on her changing table and fell off, severely injuring the left side of her brain, causing a subdural hematoma (bleeding on the brain). She was rushed to Egleston and made it through the surgery. However, the swelling on her brain never went down, and yesterday a series of tests determined that there was no brain activity whatsoever. Avery went home to heaven at approximately 5:10 pm on Friday afternoon.

Although I do not personally know this family, the grandparents of the little girl are long time family friends, and I do remember Avery's father (he was several years younger than me). Anyway, no matter if we personally know people or not, whenever there is such a tragedy, it seems like we all have a moment where we put ourselves in their "shoes," and try to understand how in the world we could ever cope. I have shed many tears over this little girl, and I have never even met her. The obvious "why, God?" is there, whether or not we ever say it aloud, and whether or not we ever really know the answer to it.

I have felt such pain for this family every time I look at my own 2 year old daughter, and can't imagine their grief, anger, frustration, emptiness, sadness, and loneliness without their baby girl. That has been my focus all day today until this evening when I had to make a quick trip to the store. The kids were on the waterslide with their Daddy, so I went alone (which rarely happens), and was able to listen to my "own" music. I was listening to Christian radio, and the song "Jesus Will Still Be There" by Point of Grace just happened to be playing. The words really spoke to me.....
"Jesus will still be there, His love will never change, sure as the steady
rain. Jesus will still be there, when no one else is true, He'll still be
loving you. When it looks like you've lost it all, and you haven't
got a prayer, Jesus will still be there."

Wow- what a message. I've heard that song so many times before, but it had different meaning this time....much deeper, as I ponder the death of little Avery. Although we may not have understanding for ourselves, or words to express our sympathy to the family in such a situation, we can always know that .....Jesus will still be there....no matter what happens.

Please pray for this family, as well as the babysitter who was with Avery at the time of the accident. God can bring healing for them all in time.

Fun times on the waterslide

Well.....Memorial Day weekend marked the beginning of summer for my kids, for sure. Matthew has been asking us for weeks to get out the waterslide. This is his absolute favorite part of summer!!! We got it last year, so this is our second year to have it, and we used it so much, we weren't sure what to expect when we blew it up after being stored for 9 months. We were pleasantly surprised to see that it looked as good as new (well, almost), and worked perfectly (thank goodness!!). While Matthew has always loved it, Sarah Beth only got on it one time last year, and got water in her eyes, so that was it for her! However, this year, she decided she might want to try it without the water....so she did. Next thing I knew, she was going down it, fully clothed, and Matthew turned the water on! They both were soaked, and having a blast! She is hooked, now.....loves it! Needless to say, they stayed on it most of last weekend with Daddy home. Matthew has the most fun when Daddy is on the slide with him! We also enjoyed a great dinner of smoked bbq ribs (my favorite food) at my parents' house. It was a great relaxing weekend- wish we could have more of those! Oh, and I also included a picture of Richard getting a manicure and pedicure that weekend- I think they tried styling his hair, but that didn't go so well- he doesn't look that great with pigtails!

Nene's 84th birthday!

We celebrated my grandmother's 84th birthday last week. My parents, the kids and I took her to the Victorian Tea Room on her actual birthday and had a wonderful time. The kids enjoyed dressing up and having a "tea party." They especially love the "little cakes" as SB calls them- a real treat. We then went back to Nene's house to open some gifts. Little did she know that on Sat., we were all going to be down at my cousin's parents' lake house for a surprise for her! There were about 60 people there to celebrate her birthday, and we all enjoyed seeing one another and being at the lake on such a beautiful afternoon. Matthew and Sarah Beth had their first ride on a waverunner- they loved it!! We also took a ride on the pontoon- lots of fun.

It was a fun time, but most importantly, we hope Nene knew how loved and appreciated she is to all of us. My cousin put together a great video where she had interviewed many of us talking about our favorite memories of Nene. It was really interesting to hear the different perspectives, and all she's been to different people in different ways. I guess one thing that stands out is that she is always doing things for others. Sure, she has ALWAYS been known for her catering and cooking (she did countless weddings/rehearsal dinners/church functions, etc.), but she has also always tried to do things for all the children that live in the houses around her, for widows, and for those who do not have much to call their own. Her work ethic has always been quite incredible as well- from dawn to dusk (and much later!), she worked at an insurance company, then in the garden, canning vegetables, baking cakes, and anything else she could cram into 24 hours of a day! We all have wonderful memories of her, and look forward to many more. I think so many times we all just go through the motions of parenting, running a household, and the routine of life, and we often forget to celebrate the lives of the ones we love.

I am so thankful for my precious husband. We met when we were in high school (I was 14, he was 16), and started "going together" before I could ever even go on an actual date at 16 years old. He was always extremely respectful of my parents, which they certainly appreciated, even to the point of leaving movies early to get me home (even though I didn't actually have a curfew). We, of course, broke up a few times along the way, but always found our way back to each other. We got married Nov. 1, 1997 (finally!) after 10+ years of dating.

Richard has changed so much in the 20 years I've known him- I guesss we all have, but still- he has really allowed the Lord to do a work in his life from the time I first met him. Even when we got married, I didn't realize what a great husband I was going to be blessed with, and especially what a fun and great Daddy he'd become! Most of the laughter in our home occurs when Daddy is around, and he loves to surprise the kids with simple joys such as an icee when the neighborhood truck rolls around. Richard loves to make up new games with the kids, and they love climbing all over him and wrestling in the floor. He loves playing ball with Matthew, pushing them both in the swing, going for walks with them, getting on the waterslide or in the pool with them, letting Sarah Beth paint his nails and brush his hair, and letting them both help him in the yard planting flowers or mowing the lawn (even though they're really in the way!). Richard always seems to make the kids feel special in their own ways, and he shows patience with them (that I often don't have!). They LOVE their Daddy!!!

Richard is silly and crazy with the kids, but he is also very hard-working and disciplined. He always gives it his all, whether it be his job, his teaching of college students, his yardwork, his work-outs, his role as husband, or his role as Daddy. When I'm working out and just feel like I can't go another rep or another step, I hear his voice in my head saying "Finish with authority!" He inspires me to be the best "me" I can be, and accepts me as I am. Of course, we have difficult moments here and there, but the times he is wrong, he is always very quick to say he is sorry and ask for forgivness- now that is something rare for a man!!! I also LOVE his ability to see the big picture, his discerning spirit, and the wisdom he has well beyond his years. He has a love for the simple things in life, and although he wishes to provide all the best for us, he supports our decision for me to stay at home rather than working right now because he realizes that our children are our main priority. We may not have the huge house we'd have if we had two incomes, but we only have a short time to raise our babies and be home with them, and all too soon we know they will be off to college!

I always feel secure in his love and his commitment to me and our family, and these days, that is certainly something to cherish. I know he will protect us, provide for us, love us unconditionally, and always be there for us. I love him for so many things, there are too many to name. I have loved him for 20 years, and will love him for the rest of my life! Thank you, Lord, for my precious husband!!!

Our T-Ball Star

Can't believe our little guy is already old enough to even be playing baseball, but we are so very proud of Matthew! His first t-ball season, and he did great! He was quite anxious at first, but after he knew what to expect and had a few games, he was much better with it all. He is a great batter, often hitting it without the tee. We enjoyed seeing him grow and learn through this first season of t-ball. We are looking forward to the Fall when he'll play again. He loves it, and we enjoy watching him have fun and feel like a "real baseball player," as he says! Disclaimer: I have no idea why in the world the horoscope advertisement is at the bottom of the slide show. He was a mentor to Richard, a friend to us both, and will forever be our pastor in every sense of the word. I enjoy his weekly message, and thought this one was so pertinent to our life right now....to hear it from the "other side" of life. Maybe it will speak to you, as well.

May 21, 2008
"Behold, children are a gift of the Lord..." (Psalm 127:3)
Thirty-one years ago I graduated high school. Twenty- eight years ago I
finished three years of military service with the 101st Airborne Division at
Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Twenty-four years ago I graduated college.
Nineteen years ago, after my wife and I had been married for four years, things changed dramatically...we became parents. We had one baby...then 12 months later we had another. "Can we stop this machine?" we asked. "Where is the off button?" Two kids in two years; were we crazy?

Living through diapers and toddling we may have thought we were crazy, but we learned we were actually blessed. Two special gifts. Two special kids. Two unbelievable persons who could frustrate us and melt our hearts all at the same time...there's nothing like having kids!

Now it's 19 years later and two kids are two adults who are planning their lives
beyond the shadow of the nest we have spent 23 years creating. And that's when I
saw it...beyond the fact that kids are gifts from God (Psalm 127:3) is the truth
that they are also "arrows in the hand of a warrior" (Psalm 127:4). You know as
well as I do, that the single greatest purpose of an "arrow in the hand of a
warrior" is to shoot that arrow straight into the heart of the enemy, not to
keep holding it in his hand!

Our kids were not given to us to keep in the "nest" (or quiver, as the Psalmist calls it). We have invested 23 years in building a nest from which these birds will fly; a quiver from which these arrows will be shot! The next best thing to being saved and being married is being a parent! It is a blessing. And it's not done until the arrow is
launched.

Don't cling to your kids; prepare them to be launched into the
battle. Pray for them; equip them; launch them. It will be another blessing to
rejoice in their victories in the years to come! Think about it...and I will see
you Sunday.Pastor Jamie

Pickin' and Grinnin'

We made our annual trip to the strawberry patch this morning. Of course, the best part is always the homemade strawberry ice cream! Yummy! We had a wonderful time! She began singing Jesus Loves Me, and it was so very precious. I told her that Jesus loved hearing her sing to him, and she was his little princess. Then, I thought she was repeating me saying "I'm Jesus' little princess," but when I said, "that's right," she said, "No, Mommy, you're Jesus' little princess, too!" WOW- as I'm trying to let her know how special she is to our Heavenly Father, He sends a message right back to me through my baby girl. What a sweet moment! Either way, it really made an impact on us when he said it: "The days are long, but the years are short." How true is that? Some days with preschoolers it seems all I can do to teach/play with the kids, keep the house in order, dinner on the table, the kids bathed and in bed before passing out myself. The days sometimes seem WAY TOO LONG! But, how thankful I am for each and every second I get to spend with my children and husband. I'm reminded of that every time I hear tragic stories of families losing loved ones, but since my father made that statement, I think the Lord reminds me of how precious these times are all throughout each and every day.

Tonight, as we sat having a picnic outside with perfect weather, the yard freshly mowed and new flowers planted everywhere (thanks to my hard-working husband), a new see-saw (a surprise Daddy brought home this afternoon), and watching my kiddos with dirt all over them from playing as they smiled at me with ice cream all over their faces, I was once again reminded of how precious these times are, and how I never want to take them for granted. When we're out in stores or shopping, I often hear comments from grandparents saying what precious children we have, and how they wish they could "go back" and relive those days with their own toddlers.

Well- those of us who have our little ones now- let's enjoy these days to the fullest! God's given us this time that we can make so many precious memories! One day we'll be those older adults at the mall who look lovingly at others' little ones remembering these days. Thank you, Jesus, for every second of every day with my babies!!!!!

Homeschool Blessings

My baby boy is reading so well these days....at 4 1/2 yrs. old! We have been doing reading lessons together all year as I have homeschooled him for Pre-K, and it is so amazing to see him grow and learn every day! I never thought I would be a homeschooler, but the Lord has laid it upon our hearts for at least this year and his Kindergarten year. It has been such a joy, and my heart is so full when I see the progress he makes every day- it brings tears to my eyes to listen to him read short stories, and see him enjoying it. Thank you, Lord, for this blessing! I have enjoyed reading others so very much, so I thought I would go ahead and start one for my family memories. I don't get as much time to scrapbook as I would like, so this will help preserve some of our fun times as a family. I certainly am no theologian, but I will also share some things that the Lord is teaching me along this journey of motherhood. I LOVE taking pictures, so there will be lots of those, as well.
